All year round
A lake that changes
Nohur's chief feature is that it is beautiful in any season — and different each time. The lake seems to change its dress along with the mountains around it.
Its most famous season is autumn. In October and November the forests around it blaze with gold, ochre and crimson, and all of it reflects in the calm water. It is for these views that photographers come.
But the other seasons are good too: the fresh green of spring, the emerald coolness of summer and the quiet, snowy beauty of winter. Nohur is worth seeing more than once.
Spring
The slopes turn green, the air is fresh, the lake fills with meltwater.
Summer
Emerald water and the dense shade of the forests bring coolness in the heat.
Autumn
Gold and crimson forests in the mirror of the water — the most striking season.
Winter
Snow on the peaks and shores, a quiet, graphic beauty.
Dawn
Morning mist over the water makes the lake especially mirror-like.
Sunset
Warm evening light paints the mountains and water — the best time for photos.
SummerThe green season
Coolness amid the heat
In summer, when the lowland of Azerbaijan languishes in the heat, a pleasant coolness reigns at Nohur. Green slopes, the shade of trees and the water make the lake an ideal place for summer rest.
That is why the warm season is especially busy here.
